Whether you love it or hate it, you know that what you do before, during and after the workout can significantly impact your workout results. Here are 5 tips to consider before your training!
1. Get enough sleep.
Being well-rested, meaning at least six and a half hours, will:
- keep you energized during your workout,
- allow your muscles to recover.
DON’T CHUG WATER IMMEDIATELY BEFORE YOU TRAIN (you’ll have countless pee breaks…)
You might already know but being hydrated during your workout will:
- reduce muscle cramps,
- diminish dizziness.
Be warned, water needs vary from person to person (gender, age, weight, height & workout habits). We recommend aiming for half of your bodyweight (let say you’re 70kg: divide it per 2 and you have 3,5L!). If you have trouble hydrating, don’t hesitate to read our 4 ways to stay hydrated.
3. Eat a snack.
To have enough energy during your training, we recommend eating your pre-workout snack an hour or so before exercise. What to eat you ask?
Make sure that carbs and protein are on the menu and why not fruits! Protein shakes and bars also work.
4. Right clothes for the right workout.
Everything is said in the title ! For each sport, its outfit. Dress with comfortable clothes for a yoga session or wear tight outfits during HIIT workout, for example. In addition to helping you during your workout, your outfit can also help you have more self-confidence!
